One Day At A Time

"Mom, what are we doing tomorrow?" Is what I hear about five times a day....and this is after we've gone over, "Mom, what are we doing today?" Grant has to know what's happening the whole week, weeks in advance! I bought this cool kids weekly calendar in Europe a few years ago and now would be the perfect time to break it out-too bad it's in storage! Maybe a big homemade calendar will work. I don't know why the phrase, "One day at a time" didn't come to mind sooner. Isn't that true....life is short enough as it is! Let's enjoy TODAY!

As we were driving home from picking up some groceries this morning Grant said, "Mom, when I blow out my candles on my birthday, I'm going to wish for a little kids dentist office, but it will have to be big so all the kids can fit in it." I don't know where these ideas come from? If he wants to be like Papa, that's fine by me!

We were also making corn bread muffins for the church party tonight and Grant was helping as usual. The muffins came out of the oven and he exclaimed (very excitedly), "Mom, those look fantastic! Dad will be so happy; this will be the best surprise ever. They will be great for the party! I really like being your helper." (note: Grant gets the word "fantastic" from his dad.) He makes me smile everyday and that's all it takes to make it through the day....one day at a time!

Our "little Lou" is all grown up and graduating from college. Today is her very last day! Way to go Jess, you will be a great teacher!

Dad, does this mean you're retiring this year?

Here is my other sister, Diana looking radiant at her work Christmas party. I will devote a whole post to "sisters" after I get some pics in January!
