Today we went to Chattanooga, Tennessee and had a great time. I LOVED the city and if Boeing were there would move in a heartbeat! Our purpose of going was to go to the aquarium and we found that there are many more things that will take us back. It reminded me a lot of Portland, Oregon, but smaller and newer. The downtown is renovated beautifully with artwork scouring the sidewalks and walkways; there are fun things for kids to do, quaint restaurants and eateries, charming old brick buildings, sculptures, water fountains, beautiful waterfront, shops, galleries, boutiques, etc...... Grant thoroughly enjoyed the aquarium and Mark and I were pretty impressed ourselves. We ate at a fun pizza place (those of you from Corvallis think American Dream). While Mark and Grant watched an underwater sea IMAX I walked around and took pictures! We walked across the largest footbridge to the other side of the Chattanooga river and Grant had a carousel ride. We spent the whole day and are excited to take anyone who visits back (incentive to come.....)!
While we were on the footbridge we witnessed a group of people surprising a young couple for the girls b-day, they all had balloons and sang to her and then the guy with her takes out a beautifully large diamond and proposed! It was fun to watch and made Mark and I think back....ten years ago TODAY Mark proposed to me! I remember the day clearly...the hike up to the bench, the flowers, the diomand, the proposal, the celebration with family and pizza....what a truely lovely day and fun to reminisce about!
Now for some pictures of Grant:

What a fun day! I have been thinking the same thing that it is eight years ago that Mike proposed. What a ride this has been!
Love, Amy
Wow, that looks and sounds like so much fun! So I'm wondering, did the bug survive the flick that Grant is about to give it!! LOL. I love your pics.
