I would be lying if I didn't say I feel a little empty.
The tears are dried and the house is quiet. The whole family loaded in the van to take Grant to Kindergarten this morning. While we were leaving Grant asked why it was called kindergarten and responded to himself, "It's like a whole garden of kids." I thought to myself how wonderfully that describes these little classes of children. I cannot wait to watch him grow this year.
Grant was excited and nervous. So am I. We greeted his teacher and let him line up with the rest of the class. I got my picture and Mark promptly turned to tell me it was time to go.
I have yet to jot down the long list of items and projects I plan to work on with all my free time now...most of it will consists of cleaning the house and organizing for the first bit-then maybe something fun. Wish me luck!

Good luck!
Wow Kim...time flies doesn't it. He looks adorable and happy as usual. Glad you made it through.
He'll do fine. You'll do fine.
Yeah for Kindergarten! I think you should add painting (canvas not walls) to your list of fun projects!
What a big day, it is so hard, I am dreading Madie's first All day here at the end of the month. Hope he has a great first day.
Sounds like we had a similar morning. I miss Logan already! Good luck.
That first day+ is so hard, and empty is the perfect word... the hours drag on. But, I'm sure he had a great time, and he is so darn cute and fun, I'm sure he'll do great!
I've been thinking about you ALL day!!!!! I'll be calling you for a first day report tomorrow. Can't wait to hear all about it!!! :)
Ooo, his teachers are going to eat him UP he's so cute!
Do you ever feel a little sad when you watch the school buses roll by and know you're no longer on the other end welcoming little souls into your classroom? Oh this time of year makes me miss teaching so badly.
Hope Grant had a GREAT first day!
