Calm After The Storm...

Photobucket

Our cooperative preschool has started back full force this month, yay! It was very sporadic for a while due to sickness after sickness with the kids. Grant tends to get over stimulated around other children, my guess since he's by himself most of the time...so today being back with another high energy little boy was quite the struggle to have him sit and obey. Our week feels full now with that and his weekly art class, library and science class. It's fun to watch him in each of these situations and then of course the quiet afternoon of playing cars, make believe or an occasional computer game.

I was discussing with a friend recently the reality of our boys being old enough to go to kindergarten (Angela, I'm feeling your pain). I did a post a while back, one of those 'tagged' ones and the question was four fears: I know for sure one was bears and another was sending my child off to kindergarten. (I think I will add tornados to that list), but with the reality of kindergarten happening this August...it is pretty scary and exciting at the same time. Some days I think he's totally ready and other days I want to keep him in my arms forever.

I felt the same way with Madie. It was the realization that I was no longer going to be her only world. I would no longer have the ability to filter her surroundings. Jeff and I would not be the only ones helping to determine how she would feel about herself. It is scary to let the world in to effect your child. She has done great, but I long for those days when she was all mine and we could share our days together. Enjoy the time together, it goes by way too fast.

Lurking again, and finally posting a comment again. Honestly, I cried when Zach went to Kindergarten. Not so much with Ranoah as I knew she and I would actually get along better with schooling. I have one more precious year left with Skylah though, then I am officially done. Weird, scary, exciting, odd... I could go on.
Love the pics, as usual. I felt like my computer was moving when I scrolled down viewing the computer one.

Oh no, I'm not ready for Abby to start school too.

So glad you are safe and sound!

It hasn't gotten easier with any of my kids going to school. I love the days we have together. People think I'm strange when I say I like it when my kids are home.

Trevin wants to know what computer game Grant is playing. :)

He'll do awesome at school! It will be a great experience for him to learn to interact with others and follow other's instructions. Don't worry...you will both survive!

I love the painting too! I feel for you sending off your little buddy to school. You've done a great job raising him and now he gets to influence many other kids his age. He will be an example to others. My "busy" boy has turned out to be a leader around his peers and I suspect that Grant will be the same. I'm excited to see the growth that your family will be going through this comming year! You'll do great!
