Friday Fun

"It's Friday!"
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Some people have asked how I got my pictures bigger. I will ATTEMPT to answer the question, but as I am clearly NOT a computer savvy gal...it may not be of any help.

I had wondered that same thing many moons ago lurking on other photographers blogs (even emailed a couple to ask how they did it, never got a response),so when my fabulous photog friend, Leah made her pictures bigger I again sent off an email to inquire. So, credit goes to Leah, she gave me a few helpful hints and the rest was trial and error....so take the following information knowing I'm giving it my best shot of explaining!

After I edit my photos I downsize my pics (as I always do, a lesson learned this year when I used up my blog space because I was loading my pictures in full format....dumb!). After I have resized them I go to my online photo host of choice, which happens to be Photobucket and upload them there. I then copy the html code from there to my blog (the part where you go and upload a picture) under "or add an image from the web", then click upload image. Voila! Now for me this was tricky, whatever code it uploaded I had to erase part to get the picture to look how I wanted to, I don't know if you'd have this same problem?

Now, since the pictures will obviously be bigger I had to go into the html format of my blog template and change the pixels so they would fit and not look funky. This I spent a lot of trial and error on....but found this article that was helpful and ended up using these settings. I imagine this may not work for those of you who have three columns? I also deleted some code to get ride of the border that surrounded uploaded images, as to just have my picture.

Clear as mud? If I was computer savvy I would know how to put little pictures and walk you through this process....but computers are not my forte. Email me if you have a question. Have a great weekend!

p.s. A blog I frequent had a great photography Q&A post the other day, definitely worth reading (make sure and read the last paragraph!)

While the larger pictures are nice to look at, it takes much longer for your page to load on my computer. I guess I just need to develop some patience.

I tried it, but it didn't work I am still confused. I am so not savy either, but compared to me you are a genius.
