Last night we had a blackout due to a storm. Grant and I were home alone and found some flashlights, got out the lantern and sat and watched the lightening and listened to the thunder. Mark was home shortly and started our fire, it was a good little practice of knowing where our emergency supplies were, 'just in case'! Grant thought the whole ordeal was, "so cool!"

Weird...it's like your blog reverted back to a couple of months ago.
The lights must have gone off after you called.

Nice fire. ;)
And I'm glad Grant enjoyed the outage. Steve informed me once I finally got home that our two younger ones were completely freaked out the whole time. So no fun at the H home.
I'm with Grant- storms and getting to use the flashlights and sometimes candles is cool! My kids and I like it when a good lightning storm rolls through and the lights go out. We light the candles and eat a sandwich dinner. I don't like the major storms that cause damage to people and/or property. I love your fire!
I was at Applebee's when it blacked out and it was hilarious...good thing I was with a few friends! It made it better :) Our house was fine, I guess it was only the other side of Gillespie that got hit! Their were a few cops directing traffic since the lights went out :)
Our lights only flickered, but I did worry about flashlights, etc. in case the power did go out. For some reason, I don't think they are all in the food storage closet like they should be! :) The fire is beautiful!
