I'm still smiling from when my friends were here, it really was a great rejuvenating weekend. We're getting back to a routine around here. Yesterday I pulled out all the boxes in our spare room thinking to de-junk a little and I found most of the "missing items" from the move...which were mostly Grant's. The soldier set kept him occupied for quite sometime. We are getting a fence built and hopefully that will be done this week or next, posts are all up! Mark has plans to work on putting in a deck while his parent's are here next week as well. It's fun to see the house and yard taking the shape we had planned for it.
It's raining! Those of you who don't know me well, let me just tell you this is a comfort....being a true Oregonian I love the rain! There is something melancholy and comforting about it. So I thought it would be appropriate to leave two pictures for the rain loving in all of us, but more so enjoying the brightness after.....

I sure have missed your blogs.
Grant looks so happy in those pictures...you can tell he was having a great time!
So did Mark give you a chance to tell him all about YOUR weekend? :)
The biggest thing I miss the most from out west is the smell of rain in AZ! I am with you all the way! Tuesday night Zach played soccer in the rain, and they all loved it! Shawn (another "true Oregonian") was having a great time coaching in the rain! Sometimes when it rains hard, he just slips his grub sweats on and heads out the door to run! Love the pics!!! Glad to hear everyone made it back safely!
I love the pictures of Grant and Mark. We're still working on a routine. Where did you find the sunflower?
Amy
I love your picture blogs, but I love reading your thoughts and your this&that's, too. Love the sunflower and the clearing sky. Makes me sad I neglected my garden this year. And, how exciting to have a fence and a deck put in... makes planting so much easier to have beautiful structures to define the space and work around!
Funny how some love the rain and others would love to trade it for a sunny day! The longer I live away from the rain the more I realize that I am not a rain girl. Today it is raining...now I wouldn't mind it so much if I was sitting in front of the fire reading a book. Instead I am doing the unloved chore of switching the kid's summer clothes to their winter clothes. Not that fun! I am missing the 80 degree Alabama sun!
It was rainy here yesterday and I thought to myself, if I was a photographer- a really good one, I would take a picture of the clouds right at the edge of the spot of blue sky that I could see. Then I saw your picture and it was even better than what I dreamed mine would look like! That is talent Kim! I love seeing raw talent!
