Your dahlias are gorgeous. I didn't have luck with the few dahlias I planted. They bloomed too early and then it got too warm for them and they died. Sometimes the unpredictable Alabama weather is just too much!
You must have an amazing garden. I wish I was a green thumb. I love the close ups, but you should take a faraway shot so we can see these lovely planter beds.

My macros I usually never alter the color...what is there is the color it is or surrounding. That's one of my favorite things about the macro lens, it focuses so much on one small area the background always becomes so diffused. All the dahlias are surrounded by the green leaves, maybe the reflection of the blue/red tones of the bricks brought out a teal affect.
