I have always thought sunsets were a bit cheesy, fluorescent colors that seemed to be smeared on a poster that would hang next to a picture of an 80's corvette or white tiger. What in the world was I thinking? Actually here in Alabama they have beautiful sunsets, something we noticed right away, unfortunately I haven't gotten any pictures....yet.
About a month ago while Grant and Mark went to the movies I perused the nearby shops...one being Barns and Noble. I went straight to the photography section and started reading about landscape photography. I don't remember the book or author, but basically he said (this is the Friday Fun tip for the week:) there are only two times of day you ever want or can take a picture of the landscape. 30 minutes before sunrise and sunset. Well, I don't know if I agree with him 100%....but tried out his theory while we were in Destin a couple evenings. After dinner we headed to the beach to watch the sun set and on one night even witnessed a romantic proposal!
The outcome was amazingly beautiful. Would these go well with a white tiger?

And a few of my faves:

So if you're up at the crack of dawn or out in the evening this weekend get out that camera! Happy Friday tomorrow, have a great weekend!!

Kim, those are absolutely amazing. I especially love the B&W's and the ones of the soft beachy colors.
OMG!! I almost can't stand it I want to get to the beach so bad!!!
I love the shot with Grant and you can see the strip of hotels behind him. It makes me homesick...and I don't officially live there...whatever...I miss it though.
Quick question...you taking tomorrow off or something? Today is Thursday, right...?
BREATHTAKING!! SERIOUSLY!!!
I love these Kim!
Wow. I love them all. The last one is my fave though. Print it and hang it up right away!

I'm going to have to go by myself a white tiger if that is what it takes to have something as beautiful next to it!
A white tiger and spandex! Lovely!

Kim....I'm in awe with your talent. Some of my fondest memories were my parents throwing together a picnic dinner and saying "hop in the van, we're going to the beach to watch the sunset." These are amazing photographs.
