Fall....where are you?

Well, I wasn't try to prepare you for something fantastic when I said I'd post pictures of my porch. We really have no "porch" It's nothing compared to our porch at our house in Sumner that our friend Mike spent so much time building...but something had to go up for Fall. I'm thinking a massive fun wreath stuffed with Fall things would look nice on the door too; anyone know where I can get one? My favorite finds of the day were the bumpy pumpkins and the blue pumpkin. Hopefully next year we'll have pumpkins from our own garden!

Here we are almost to September and it's been in the high 80's and I'm waiting a bit too impatiently for Fall to appear. I am missing Oregon right now and the crisp mornings (my sister said the other morning she had to turn the heat on in the car!), smells of field burning, apples growing on my dad's trees, OSU students back, Beaver enthusiasts driving around with flags on their cars, the excitement of going back to school....and the one culminating event that brings it all together....the Corvallis Fall Festival in all it's glory! Hundreds of art booths set up in downtown central park; wonderful local artists from near and far sharing their talents and we're not talking kitch art...this is the real deal, hippies walking around in their Birkenstocks, you always run into at least five people you know, find out someone you know, but you didn't know is an artist and has a booth, for me see former students, and of course buy some souvenirs. My first date was to the Fall Festival, remember that double date Amy? Oh, how I'm missing my Oregon Fall. It will come to us in Alabama, I just need to be patient. I am looking forward to the wonderful colors and leaves the deciduous trees in our forest will be blanketing our yard with! Until then I will live vicariously through those who are enjoying a crisp, time for jeans type Fall...wherever you are!

Love the porch and bumpy pumpkins. I can hardly wait to get my porch decked for the fall. I didn't grow zucchini this year or anything else for that matter. Oh wait we have blueberries and strawberries. I was a little busy at planting time this year. We're looking forward to next years garden. We keep adding veggies to the list.

Gorgeous porch. Fall is great; I love turning off the A/C and letting the breeze in through the windows.

What a beautiful doorway! If I sent you a picture of my drab front door will you give me ideas? I would have to say that Fall is my favorite season. Like Nancy, I love having the windows open (not to mention the lack of A/C bills!) however, I forgot to close them before I went to bed last night and woke up to a 65 degree house! Brrrrr!

How could I forget. I just can't remember who did the asking. Love your porch! I have done cornstalks before and the cats kept knocking them over, so this year I will have to try and wire them.
