Me, My Boy & Green Mountain

Today Grant and I ventured up to Green Mountain, a nearby nature trail. It was beautiful and reminded me a lot of Oregon...the smells, the green...the good old days at Outdoor School when I taught sixth grade.

Grant had fun hiking and exploring. He brought along with him his walking stick Papa made him, but should of also brought his butterfly net and exploring bin. As Grant said, "There's so much to see here!" and on the drive home, all on his own said, "Thanks for taking me there Mom, I really had fun!" We'll definitely be going back!

Me & my boy (in an overexposed, blurry, poorly self timed picture, but Grant was calling the shots & I couldn't resist a picture with my son!):

We miss Mark, only a couple more days....

I love the jumping one :) and I also like the one with you in it, even if it didn't turn out it will be a memory of Grant in charge..

LOVE these shots!

I also loved getting to know you better.

(I have been so bad lately about commenting and was sorry I missed on the asking questions post.)

Also I have an SB600 speedlight and I would recommend getting a flash diffuser attachment. It is great because it makes the light and shadows less harsh.

What a beautiful place. Great to see what Alabama has to offer.

You asked about the photo thingy on our blog. Jared made it with adobe photo shop. cutting and pasting, resizing, changing to black and white. Jared said he is sure you already now all about it.

Good gravy, Kim, I love number 2. And I LOVE the expression on Grant's face in the picture of the two of you. Sweet!

Grant is so cute in that jumping pic. He's like a little leprechaun guarding the bridge that leads to Green Mountain!

My favorite is of him looking through the window on the bridge. That just makes me think of so much from my childhood. You will have to let me know where that is.... I would love to take Skylah there.

The first two are simply gorgeous! I'm so glad you were able to capture the beauty of my home state! I also, love the one of you two together. You can tell how much you love being together.

Oh my goodness, beautiful pictures! I love the picture of you two! It looks like so many of our pictures and not just the ones the kids take.

I also love the jumping pic. I like how you and Grant take excursions. I'm sure sometimes it may feel easier to just stay home but these are the memories you'll have forever and great learning experiences for Grant. How far away is it for you?

Oh, and by the way- you look great kim!
