When we got back from our run this morning I said, "Let's do some weeding!" (enthusiastically) Grant's response, "But that's boring!"....my solution...trucks.
If you know my son well, you know he LOVES trucks or any occupation relating to trucks. So, while we stayed home and weeded off and on throughout the day, all day (notice from the pictures...before bath/after bath)...(what a chore! by the way) We found a good system that works well. I pull the weeds and put them in a bucket and when that bucket is full I yell, "Yard debris man, I need a pick up!" and no sooner than I'm done yelling I have my little helper emptying my bucket and off to discard of the debris. Anyone else want to come help?
Of course there was time for this:

A big thanks to all who participated in my "comment" post today! It was fun learning something new about you...I even met some new people and made some new friends. I think maybe there are some of you still hiding....that's OK, I'll still be your friend; you'll reveal yourself one of these days! This blog has been a journey of exploring, learning and growing...thanks for being a part of it. I invite you to continue to stop by...and comment.....

I would love to come and help, I just have to get my yard cleaned up first. We actually had to pay a guy to come de-weed our yard. It got so out of control that we couldn't handle it ourselves. I really don't like weeds, but it would be fun to have someone to weed with.
Ok, so far our plans when I get down there are weeding and scrapbooking, right? I'll bring the chocolate!
John is my best weeder. We spent 30 minutes on the front yard the other day, and got done what normally would have taken me an hour if I had been all by myself. I'm so glad he enjoys it -- he motivates me to weed.

confession: we don't even have to take care of a yard (townhome), but i have a little flowerbed in front of my house that i still avoid weeding. um, it's about 2 square feet. i'm hopeless...
I don't like to weed either. We love Round Up and Preen--anything to avoid weeding. I'd have to agree with everyone, though--a weeding partner makes a huge difference.
When I come to visit will all the bugs be dead?
What a creative way to get Grant involved! Does everyone in the family run together or do you just go out in the morning?
I love that Grant loves trucks. What a boy! It is better to have a partner for weeding.
You honestly take the best pictures, I am always wondering how you get the color in your pictures so bright and your pictures are always so in focus. I can't seem to get the settings on my camera right to make my pictures in focus. And you have a great eye for composition.Love it!
