My Sisters

It's both my sister's birthdays this week! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Diana, my smart accountant/CPA sister who works in downtown Portland and flies all over the US for business, living the urban life of a young single adult. When she was born I was in first grade and took her to school for "sharing" one day (see above picture). I loved having a baby sister and she was my baby. I remember she would cry for me and not my mom! I loved her curls and squeezing her hand, we even shared a room for a period of time. Flash forward twenty something years later and she is jet setting her way in a top accounting company. She is generous person; with her time, talents and fortune....I admire that about her. She loves Grant and always has special surprises for him and is quite the magician. He loves his Aunt "D-dina"

Jessi or formerly known as, "Lou" is the baby of the family. When Jessi was born I was in fourth grade and brought cupcakes with balloons on them that I had made with my mom in celebration of her birth. She was also my baby and I would push her around in my baby stroller. She called me, "ummy". Jessi loved Disney movies and music, believe it or not she would dance around singing at the top of her lungs. To my mother's dismay she never did try out for a high school musical. When Mark and I were dating she once asked him, "How high can you go?"....meaning how high can you sing....she can sing pretty high. Jessi followed the path I took and recently graduated from BYU with teaching degree in elementary education. Some lucky group of kids is going to be blessed by her teaching skills, particularly her love of children's literature. Again, Grant is blessed by a loving Aunt who plays endlessly, reads infinite amount of books with him, bakes with him and watches movies with him.

I think Diana and Jessi would have to arm wrestle to figure out who is the better Aunt. It's pretty much a tie.

I love my sisters. Even though we live many miles away from each other and even if they spend more time together (because they are young, beautiful and single) I am always happy when I am with them. When we are lounging in my parent's living room I feel like we're a scene out of a Jane Austin film...Jessi at the piano, takes the role of Jane from P&P, Diana the intellect, maybe even Lizzy herself, or the free spirited Marianne in Sense and Sensibility. And me...well I'm not quite sure....yes, I know, Emma herself trying to make them both matches. We talk, we laugh, we critique, we love.

Happy birthday my dear sisters...I love you!

That was a sweet post. Diana was a good roomate even if it was for a short amount of time. I love the picture of you and Jessi when you are older because that's the Kim I remember growing up.

My favorite post from you ever! I love the Jane Austen allusions. I can remember Jessi and Diana dancing around the family room to "Ice, Ice, Baby." You are so lucky to be just old enough to remember when they were little babies. What a tribute!

Thanks! I love you too, and was hoping that you had forgotten some of those details you shared about me. Can't wait 'til I find my Mr. Bingley!!! :) -Little Lou

P.S. The pics didn't work for me or mom...

This post is so sweet. What a wonderful sister you are. I don't know Jessi very well but she is adorable. Diana is one of the neatest people and I have always admired her. She has always been very mature and very driven. She is always leagues ahead of everyone else. Happy birthday girls. Hope you have a wonderful day.-Julia

Eventhough I haven't spent a whole lot of time with your sisters, I love them both. They really are neat girls! I still think Jesse and Kylee could be BFF. :) Did you know that I was in first grade when Kylee was born on May 21st? Kind of a funny coincidence. :)

I have always been jealous of girls with sisters...I missed out for sure! I feel it as I get older, I have sisters-in-law, but they all have sisters so it's never quite the same!

Miss ya

Cute post, Kim. I love all your memories your little sisters coming into the world. The pictures speak a million words. How fun to bring your babies to sharing time at school. Most of my first memories of playing with friends and going to friend's homes involve Diana and Kari Christensen. Thanks for helping me remember!

Thanks Kim. I am so lucky to have you and Jess as sisters and best friends. I always tell my "sister-less" friends how much they're missing out on. I'm not exactly sure who all the characters are in Jane Austen but I assume I'm the socially awkward one :0)

Love ya
