Sugar Cookies for Breakfast

Yesterday Grant and I made sugar cookies for today Valentine's party we hosted at Joy School. I love baked goods, cookies included....so those soft plain hearts were calling to me this morning with a glass of ice cold milk. Yum!

I love Valentine's Day. Not because I ever had a "sweetheart" growing up, but it reminds me of being a kid and making Valentine shoe boxes at school, conversation hearts, waking up to ribbon tied to my bed and following it around the house to lead me to a Valentine surprise from my parents and of course, the sugar cookies. It's just so sweet. And who doesn't want to be told and reminded they are loved!

Now, that's my kind of breakfast. I need to go get some powdered sugar, because we are doing the same thing.

Yummy...I'm glad they turned out well. The ribbon thing was always my favorite...a tradition I'm definitely going to carry on.

I love the ribbon too, especially when mom was sneaky enough to actually tie it to my wrist! I do remember one year when Cupid left me a scavenger hunt instead of ribbon--i got that really cool light-up globe that year! Isn't mom great?!
Happy Valentine's Day!
