As you know Mark and I went out to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse last night. I wanted to give the report of how it was since we'd heard really good things about it. We were warned at the pricey tags and large side dishes before hand, so none of that was a shock. I am not a steak or seafood consumer so my choices were limited to the stuffed mushrooms or chicken for the meal. Of course I chose the chicken and a some potatoes...everyone ordered something different with some sides. I can't critique the food too well because I'm a picky eater (and as mentioned earlier don't eat steak or seafood; I was told it was good). The chicken and potatoes were fine, nothing too spectacular and certainly not worth the wad of money paid for them. I had a ton of left overs to take home and was looking forward to a hearty meal today.
The best part of dinner was getting out and having a good time with each other and the other couple. I liked the atmosphere of the restaurant, we didn't feel rushed and had plenty of conversation time. The restaurant was located in a hotel lobby so I thought that kind of took away from the ambiance and it was a bit drafty.
Now, here comes the big disappointment. When I had my practically whole chicken and sides unfinished sitting there the guy who cleaned up our table asked if I wanted them boxed up. "Yes, please" was my reply. We go on and order dessert, which we had more left overs of. The enormous check came and I asked our waiter where my boxed entree was (my friend had received her boxed dessert and it was quite normal, all evening people were lugging out bags of food)? He looked at me and said, "Should I believe you? Who took it?" Ummm, the guy who cleared our table, I said. He asked who it was, because he didn't know. Like I am supposed to know? I said I didn't know, a man. He said he would check around. He brought the check back for Mark to sign and turned and left. That was it...I wasn't getting my food that probably cost about a weeks worth a groceries and that we paid for!
We were in a hurry to get back, because the babysitter needed to leave by 8:30 p.m. or else I would of stayed and complained. I sent good old Ruth's an email this morning requesting compensation for the food we paid for, but didn't get to bring home. I think the only time I will go back is with the gift card they hopefully send me. I don't know what "star" restaurant Ruth's is, but I'm giving it a three out of five (over priced & lacking in service).
Despite that disappointment we had a great evening. Grant had a great time playing and was wiped out by the time we got him home. Mark and I should go out more often!

It seems your waiter wasn't practicing any Random Acts of Kindness. I love to "fine dine" but I'm very picky about where we go because I expect a lot for the money you pay. If we're going to Applebee's (I hate that place), or someplace simlar, I have zero expectations. I hope there is more dating in your future.

I'm irritated and it didn't even happen to me! I'm glad you sent an email. I'm glad you got to go out though!! Fun Fun. Nate and I actually got to go out on a date last night too. My mom came up and watched the kids. I think it may deserve it's own post coming up soon.
