My Friend Kathy

Tonight I had a blast from the past with probably my friend I have had the longest. That would be my friend, Kathy. Kathy and I met in kindergarten and were instant friends. We played at each others houses, we had the same elementary school teacher EVERY year, we were in Blue Birds and Camp Fire together, we went to camp together, we were on the Boys and Girls Club team sports together, I had my first sleep over at Kathy's and watched my first scary movie at her house, Disney's "Karin" (I don't know if that was the name, but it was scary!) Our school paths divided in middle school, but we were reunited in high school, where the tradition of OSU gymnastics meets started. We would go and and sit in awe of those gymnasts like Sharri Knight, still critiquing all the while. We would ooh and ahhh and cheer! We continued to go for many years to come, dreaming about when we would attend OSU (but neither of us did). So, when I found out there was a gymnastics meet tonight...I knew we had to go! Kathy is a lawyer now and lives on a "farm" in the country. It's always the same when we see each other. We get caught up on the latest Corvallis gossip, celebrity gossip and people from high school gossip, as well as our families. She always makes me laugh and has always supported me in whatever my life has dealt. AND she has PROMISED that she will come visit me in Alabama!!!
