Days Like This

It's 1:30 p.m. in Alabama and Grant is still in his pajamas. We managed to get out on our run this morning, but waited until it was 30 degrees out, so that wasn't until about 11:30! Grant still has his hat on from the run and is enjoying just playing around. I love it when he's like this. He's being creative, not asking to watch t.v. He was constructing a road from large sticks and now he has moved on to play dough; all the while asking questions and having conversations like this: "Mom, that sure was scary last night when I had a tummy ache." "How did they make gold plates? How does the gold get in the mountain?" "I look clean, don't I?" with a huge smile on his face....he's trying to avoid the bath I've been trying to give him all morning. I think the only thing that will do it will be the bribe to help make chocolate chip cookies for tonight's FHE. I have loads of laundry, unpacking, and cleaning to do....but I sure do love days like this. Tomorrow we actually have things to do and places to go, so we better get to it!

I love that hat! It's so nice to have nothing days when kids are happily occupying themselves. It makes you enjoy your job. I hope you are recovered from your travels.
