We’re back! Mark and I had an amazing time in Hawaii and want to go back already! Thank you to Nana & Papa for entertaining Grant and letting him stay, he loved it! He also loved his time with Gigi and George.
As soon as we arrived we hit the beach to take in all the sites, smells, and sounds—perfect! The first morning we were up at 5 a.m. and off to hike Diamond Head. It ended up being over an 8 mile hike from our hotel downtown, and many stairs going UP to the top, but the views were worth it! After the hike we snorkeled at Hanauma Bay and it was so much fun! We saw so many colorful fish, big and small, even a snake like eel of some sort. Unfortunately Mark forgot to put sun screen on his legs and got pretty burned.
Sunday we went to Laie for church and attended a ward at the BYU University. For those of you from Corvallis we ran into Courtney Barlow (small world!). We went to temple square and watched the new Joseph Smith video and then drove on to the North Shore. A stop at the Dole Pineapple Plantation topped off the day. I think I know more about pineapples than ever before and have eaten my share—even pineapple ice cream.
The rest of the trip had great dining, sun bathing, movie watching, walking along the beach, hiking and shopping filled up the rest of our time….pretty perfect if you ask me!
Here are just a few pictures…..
